Facts #1

Shark Skin
Although , it looks smooth , did you know that a shark's skin is covered with tiny scales ? It is so rough that sailors once used sharks' skins to scrub the decks of their ships !

Snakes in Ireland
Believe it or not , there are no snakes which are native to Ireland. Legend has it that St. Patrick, the country's patron saint, banished them over 1,600 years ago because he thought they were evil

Another scientistic logic..it is more likely that the last ice age prevented snakes from populating Ireland. Ireland was once buried under a deep sheet of ice - very unattractive to snakes. When the climate became warmer, the sheets of ice melted to form the Irish Sea providing a barrier for snakes from warmer regions to reach Ireland!

Cold Explorers
How did explorers to the North Pole keep warm in the old days ? They would wear seaskins ! American explorer, Robert Peary and his assistant , Matthew Henson wore seaskin clothes when they travelled to the North Pole in 1909. The seaskins they wore were made by local people and were light, waterproof and very warm !

Deadly King
A bite from a King Cobra is so deadly that it can kill a human being in just 15-20 minutes!

Is 0.999,999,999
At first glance 0.999999999....looks like it is less than 1 because the decimal has an infinite number of 9's. In fact, it can be proved that the repeating decimal 0.9999....is not appropriate to , but equal to 1.

Deception or Illusion ?

Let x = 0.999999...
10x = 9.99999...
x= 0.999999....
-----------------------
9x = 9
x = 1
0.999999... = 1
